Hi! Today I met Nalani! She wasn't there Friday, sadly she hurt her toe so she can't get in the water with us... But today we got to go to a whole different side of the lo'i, it was in the very back. The first thing we had to do was move a tarp over the plot we needed to work on to another plot. We place tarps over the plots to keep weeds from getting in the plots while they are empty. Then we spent the rest of the day mounding, which is using our hands to dig mud from under the surface water and place it of the mounds. Then we shape the mounds and flatten it out. We placed strings on each side of the mounds to make sure our mounds were equal and straight. We did this all morning, had lunch and then continued doing this. The middle mound was really soupy and we couldn't get it to become a solid mound but we did finish the other two mounds!

We rinsed off in the ocean then again in the showers to get all the mud off but even then there was still mud on me. I had a blast though, I finally gave in and just sat down into the mud, it feels like a huge warm hug! I can't believe we only have one day left after today! The lo'i is one of my favorite sites we were at! I'm so excited to get even muddier tomorrow!!!

The mud that Elle PURPOSELY threw in my hair!
